Navi Mumbai

Developed in 1972, Navi Mumbai is the world's largest planned cosmopolitan city which holds a population of 24 lakhs in an area of 163 square kilometers under the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and a total area of 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi). Navi Mumbai was developed to lighten the load that Mumbai was facing because of the masses who were settling there. From those times, Navi Mumbai has now become a city in itself that gives Mumbai competition with respect to providing shelter to the masses.
 

Its pattern of developing housing infrastructure, method of finance and futuristic planning has made it a unique project. The City is well equipped with road transport, water transport, rail transport,  air transport, telecommunication, international infotech park, technology center, educational institute, Religious Places, Health Care and specialty hospitals. The Utsav Chowk at Khargarh is considered as the crown of Navi Mumbai.

Navi Mumbai is spread from Airoli in the north to Uran in the south and the length of the city is almost the same as that of Mumbai. As per the development plans, Navi Mumbai consists of 95 villages and two Municipal Councils of Panvel and Uran. The city mainly comprises of Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul, CBD Belapur, Kharghar, Airoli, Ghansoli, Kopar Khairane, Kalamboli, Kamothe, New Panvel, Ulwe, Pushpak and Dronagiri. Each of these areas has something to offer to the citizens of Navi Mumbai as well as tourists.

The city has ample to offer to the tourist like Fine Dining Restaurants and family restaurants, Multiplexes, banks, cabs, bars, apartments, hotels and Shopping Malls. The entire city is well connected with public transportation via buses, trains and taxis.
