Mumbai Regional Overview

Mumbai has the largest and busiest port of India, a major International airport and India's largest Stock Exchange, which ranks as the third largest in the world. The city also houses the buzzing Hindi film industry "Bollywood" which draws a number of youths with tinsel aspirations to Mumbai, providing them opportunities to realize their dreams. Along with all the glitter, Mumbai is also home to Dharavi, the largest slum in Asia.

Mumbai boasts of some of the richest Indian Industrialists, celebrities and showmen who have created a name for themselves not only in India but are reknowned the world over. The city also has a very large, intricate and efficient network of suburban trains, which provides the Mumbaikars a convenient and easy mode of transportation.

Combining traditional with the modern, the cricket crazy city of Mumbai has legendary play grounds like the Shivaji Park and stadiums like the Brabourne and the Wankhede on one hand and on the other you have the Worli-Bandra sea link, which is a modern day engineering marvel that has made travel easy in an otherwise congested city.

With a large number of people of all religion, caste and creed living harmoniously side by side, each day in Mumbai is a celebration of vibrant colours, lights and sounds. The Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the largest festivals of the Hindus and is celebrated with as much fervor here as Eid, the holiest festivals of the Muslims.
