Sterling Theatre is a land mark of South Mumbai which is a place that has retained its charm amongst the cine lovers since 1969. To call it the hub of English movie entertainment in Mumbai, would not be an exaggeration. Sterling theatre has always provided its patrons a state of the art experience, with its innovative use of technology.
Having created its own history, Sterling Theatre has had a culture of its own that has evolved over time & now dons a new look as a three screen Cineplex. Sterling Complex continues to entertain its audiences with the latest blockbusters of Hollywood & Bollywood including the crossover fusion cinema.
Sterling captured the charm of single movie screening in such a way that the whole experience of movie viewing was appreciated & valued. The First screening at sterling was Dr. Do-little, a popular musical starring Rex Harrison, & it was an exclusive show, as it was by invitation only.
Even in the 1970’s & 1980’s, Sterling was not only frequented by the people living in South Bombay but also by the people from the suburbs. Sterling was the first to create the matinee show held at 10:30 AM, which used to bring in hoards of students from the surrounding colleges.
Continuing its legacy of screening movies with state of the art systems, The Sterling Cineplex is one of the first in India to introduce THX Certified Cinemas, designed to recreate the acoustics & ambiance of the movie studio.
