First, you will visit the Kanheri Caves, a group of caves and rock-cut monuments cut into a massive basalt outcrop to worship Buddhism on the Sanskrit Krishnagiri (meaning Black Mountain) of the island of Salsette. Uncover Buddhist sculptures and relief carvings, paintings, and inscriptions, dating from the 1st century BC to the 10th century AD.
After a visit to the Kanheri Caves, head towards Global Vipassana Pagoda if you have selected the option that includes Pagoda, on a short ferry ride. The pagoda is the world's largest stone dome built without any supporting pillars and the largest meditation hall in the world.
