Tulsi Lake

Tulsi Lake situated in Northern Mumbai is a fresh water lake. It is the second largest lake in Mumbai and supplies water to the city. This lake along with the Powai Lake and Vihar Lake is in the Salsette Island.
Tulsi Lake is to be found within the fringes of the famous Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It was built after Vihar Lake as the city needed more water supplies, The Tulsi Dam supplies major fresh water to areas of Southern Mumbai like Colaba The idea to create this lake was conceived in 1872 and accomplished by 1897.
This fresh water lake primarily fulfils the water requirement of the southern part of Mumbai. The Lake is very scenic and you would find it ideal if you want to click some photos. You can also find reptiles like Crocodiles and Tortoises in the Lake shining with water during the afternoon.
It is one of the lakes which supplies drinking water to Mumbai City.
