Chowpatty Beach is situated at the northern end of Marine drive, located in Mumbai. It is popular amongst the locals and tourists alike. During the evening people come for a break from the tedious routine life and it gets stuffed with people, amidst food stalls, ferry rides, balloon sellers, etc. Especially on weekends and holidays, the lively beach turns into a picnic spot for the people. It hosts various festivals of the Hindus throughout the year like- Coconut Festival and Ganesh Chaturthi.
It is a popular place to relish the local delicacies of Mumbai. The food stalls on the beach serve delicious food such as- Bhelpuri, Chaat, Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri, Ice cream, fresh green tender Coconuts and many more sold at local stalls dotting the beach. It acts as a hangout for masses in all seasons. Evening at this beach is wonderful with the golden sands and blue sea in front. Usually in the evenings the whole beach is transformed into a venue for some carnival, where children enjoy the ferry rides and pony rides.
